During the weekend of September 19-21, 2008, nineteen thought leaders from diverse correctional and human service backgrounds came together to explore the current challenges and trends facing the corrections field. Their mission was to agree on new directions of exploration and initiatives for the Keystone Group to pursue over the next few years. Following the Kick-Off Event, these initiatives would be further specified through online and telephone discussion forums that would facilitate the creation of additional topic teams to explore various issues at greater depth, work teams that might accomplish specific innovative tasks, and knowledge objects to distribute to the corrections and human service fields.
