Competence-Based Development of Correctional Leaders and Managers

NIC's competency-based development approach identifies four correctional management levels:

  1. Executives
  2. Senior Leaders
  3. Mid-Managers
  4. Supervisors

Competency sets have been developed for each level to guide training, development, and succession planning.  Access competency descriptions for executives and senior leaders , or  for managers and supervisors.  Call Jo at the Information Center (1-800-877-1461) for more information on competency-based development.
