In a Marquette University blog post, Kelli Thompson, Wisconsin State Public Defender, discusses the growing trend of Evidence-Based Decision Making (EBDM) in criminal justice and how the counties of Eau Claire and Milwaukee Wisconsin are already seeing results with their EBDM initiatives.

Wisconsin is at the forefront of the trend towards the introduction of EBDM into its criminal justice systems.  Substantial efforts are underway to integrate evidence-based decision making into our local criminal justice systems.  Both Eau Claire County and Milwaukee County are currently researching and applying the methodologies and processes of EBDM into their respective criminal justice systems.  See the full post.

If you would like more information on implementing Evidence-Based Decision Making or the EBDM Initiative in your local Criminal Justice System, contact Lori Eville, Correctional Program Specialist, National Institute of Corrections, at leville@bop.gov.
